Accident Report Privilege

In Florida, anything you say while at the scene of an accident is privileged. If you were involved in an accident in Hillsborough County any statements you make are not admissible against you in a DUI case. The officer must specifically inform you that he is beginning a criminal investigation and read you your Miranda rights prior to any questioning. If they want to introduce or use your statements against you at trial they must follow this procedure.
