DUI With Property Damage

DUI with property damage is a misdemeanor. It is often the charge received when there is a crash. However, it can also be charged when a driver damages property such as a street sign or mailbox. In order to be convicted of DUI with property damage, the State must prove not only the DUI, but that the property harmed was not your own.

A DUI with property damage carries additional penalties. If convicted of DUI, a client may be required to pay restitution. Restitution is money paid to the person who owned the damaged property.

When fighting a property damage case it is important to have an attorney to represent your rights. In addition to fighting your DUI charge, a good attorney can protect you from outrageous restitution claims should you be convicted. At Finebloom and Haenel, our attorneys have the skills necessary to defend you against accusations from the State. We will do everything possible to help you avoid a conviction.
